Show Extension Service teaches Master Gardener class If you are an experienced gardener gar-dener and would like to gain more knowledge about gardening, then the Master Gardener Program is for you. This is a non-credit class taught by Utah State University Cooperative Extension Service. Classes will start Sept. 22 and continue until Dec. 1. Topics to be discussed include: basic plant science; soils, fertilizers and watering; growing trees and shrubs; vegetable garden; fruit production; control of insects, diseases and weeds; and diagnosing plant problems. The main purpose of the course is to train individuals who can help the Extension Service by answering questions, give gardening talks and help in other ways to give gardening information to the general public. Others who have an interest in sharpening up their gardening skills, whether it be for job improvement im-provement or personal use, are also encouraged to enroll in the class.
