Show Perley Clark Walter L. Norman Perley R. Clark, 79, of Pleasant Grove, died Thursday, April 23, 1987 at the American Fork Hospital of a heart ailment. He was born Nov. 28, 1907 in Wellsboro, Penn., to David and Emma J. Hartman Clark. He married Beatrice Kathrine McClure Oct. 1, 1927 in Elmira, N.Y. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Orem. He had owned and operated service stations throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; three sons and one daughter, William Clark, Ft. Worth, Texas; Constance Berry, Tucson, Ariz.; Carroll Clark, Denver, Colo. ; Floyd Clark, Sekiu, Wash.; 19 grandchidlren, 25 great grandchildren; one brother, Ned Clark, San Diego, Calif. A son Robert Clark preceded him in death. Services were Tuesday, April 28 at the Evangelical Free Church, Orem. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Walter LeRoy Norman, Nor-man, 65, of Lehi died April 24, 1987 in Atlanta, Borgia of a heart attack. He was born June o, 1921 in Brigham City, to George A. and Emily Theodora Hanson Norman. He married Donna Bingham May 10 1946. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was reared and attended schools in Provo. He was an active ac-tive member of the LDS Church and at the time of his death was a High Priest. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. Harris, Pleasant Valley, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters: William NOrman, Victor Norman Nor-man and Mrs. Floyd (Josephine) Allen, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Darrell (Georgia) Wilson, Springville; and Mrs. Bert (Dorothy) Jasperson, Payson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Elva Norman and Mrs. Oscar (Emily) Gustavson. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 28, in the Lehi 1st-6th 1st-6th Ward. Burial was in the Provo City Cemetery. Kenneth J. Myers He retired from Geneva Steel after 38 years of service. He is survived by his wife of Lehi; one son and one daughter: F. Chris Norman, Lehi; Mrs. Dale R. (Deanne) Kenneth John Myers, a native of American Fork, passed away in Duchesne Country Hospital, Sunday, April 26, 1987. He was born Nov. 5, 1903 to John W. and Emma Gardner Myers in American Fork. He was educated in the American Fork schools and at BYU. He married Edith Childs Aug. 17, 1927 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served a mission in England from 1923 to 1925. He worked for American Express for seven years before he and his wife moved to the Uinta Basin to fulfill a lifelong dream. He was a respected rancher there for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Edith, Fort Duchesne; a brother, Garth G. Myers; a sister, LaPriel Pulson, both of Salt Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Golden (Helen) Baxter, Logan. He was preceded in death by his infant son. Graveside services will be held in the American Fork Cemetery at noon Wednesday, April 29, under the direction of Olpin Hullinger Mortuary Mor-tuary of Roosevelt. Thelma T. Harris Earl E. Openshaw Thelma Taylor Harris, 81, of Lindon, died Monday, April 27, 1987 at the home of her son in Lindon. She was born Oct. 1, 1905 in Wallsburg, to Heber Joseph and Daisy Elinime Clark Taylor. She married Ralph Harris Sept. 22, 1927 in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. He died Dec. 1,1977. She spent her childhood days and attended schools in Wallsburg. She was an active member of the LDS Church having served in many auxiliary positions. She served a full-time mission in California and three stake missions. She was living in the Lindon 8th Ward at the time of her death. She is survived by a son, Nyle T. Harris, Lindon; seven grandchildren; grand-children; 23 great grandchildren; a brother and a sister: Wayne C. Taylor and Georgia Gardner, both of Wallsburg. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500 S. 300 East, Pleasant Grove, where friends may call Wednesday, April 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. or Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Vivian Hansen Earl Edwin Openshaw, Open-shaw, 77, of Lindon, died Wednesday, April 22, 1987 in Pleasant Grove. He was born Feb. 13, 1910 in Richfield, Idaho to William Edwin and Eli da Stuart Openshaw. He married Ella Verna Johnson in Tacoma, Wash. He and his wife made their home in Washington until 1976 when they moved to Lindon and have lived there since. He had worked as a boilermaker and was a member of Local 104 in the state of Washington. He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Lindon 4th Ward. He was a decorated veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife of Lindon; two sons and two daughters: Ella Mae Atwood, Oak Harbor, Wash.; Darlene Bunker, Lindon; Don Kent Openshaw, Federal Way, Wash.; Bob Kent Openshaw, Tacoma, Wash.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three sisters, one brother: Bert Openshaw, Seattle, Wash.; Ethel Hoerchel, Salt Lake City; Melvia V. Shurm, Oak Harbor, Wash. ; Edna Moore, Springville, Ore. Services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary. Services were under the direction of Bishop David C. Thurgood of the Lindon Fourth Ward. Pallbearers were Edward M. Bunker, Don Kent, Eric Bunker, David Bunker, Larry Hoecherl and Ray Hoecherl. The family prayer was by Edward M. Bunker. Marilyn A. Thurgood played the prelude and postlude. Elizabeth Bunker gave the invocation. Emily Nunerk presented the life sketch. Lula Marie Henriksen sang "Oh My Father," accompanied by Marily A. Thurgood. Edward M. Bunker was the speaker and remarks were given by Bishop Thurgood. The benediction was by Larry Hoecherl and Ray Hoecherl dedicated the grave. Vivian Brown Hansen, Han-sen, 80, died in American Fork Thursday, April 23, 1987. She was born Jan. 30, 1907 in Lehi to Marion A. and Martha Ann Steele Brown. She married Harry E. Hansen Feb. 2, 1928 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of her church and liked teaching primary and served on the stake primary board for 30 years. She is survived by her husband of American Fork, five sons and two daughters, Eldon H. Hansen, Riverton; Merrill B. Hansen, Owen L. Hansen, John L. Hansen, Mrs. Dale (Roseann) Gunther, all . of American Fork; David S. Hansen, Bountiful; Mrs. Loran (Edith) Bishop, Payson; 38 grandchildren, grand-children, 29 great grandchildren, one sister, one half-sister and one half-brother. Mrs. Sherman T. (Lerue) Wright, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Willard (Naomi) Hamilton, Cedar City; Clark K. Brown, American Fork. Funeral services were Monday, April 27 in the American Fork 25th Ward Chapel. Burial was at Lehi City Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Blind Center, 309 E. 100 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84111. Lynn Hunter Services Funeral services for Lynn 0. Hunter, who died April 9, 1987, were held Monday, April 13, in the American Fork 21st Ward under the direction of Bishop Donald W. Fowler. The family prayer was offered by Irvin C. Fox. Lydia Kirkpatrick played the prelude and postlude. The invocation was given by Rex E. Anderson. An-derson. Speakers included in-cluded Vicki Hunter Pedler, who gave the life sketch; Bishop Wendell Lambert; Stephen L. Hunter and President Milton W. Russon. Musical numbers included a rendition of "I Walked Today Where Jesus Walked," by the Jack E. Larsen family, accompanied by Ann B. Larsen; a vocal duet by Gerald and Rod Max-field, Max-field, accompanied by Collette Maxfield; and an organ medly by Dr. Reed Payne. DeVere L. Thomson offered the benediction. Dean L. Francom dedicated the grave in the Lehi City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Paul Hunter, Thomas R. Anderson, Scott Irwin, Greg Anderson, Richard Anderson, Ray Howes, Alonzo Anderson An-derson and Ernest J. Smith. Honorary casket bearers included Melvin Anderson, Eric Peterson, Max Hunter, Carl Ashton, Duane Clark, Al Webber, Wayne Cate and Dr. James Clarke. |
