Show Openhouse planned in honor of Reed Warnick's 90th birthday llSlRlWp UN An open house and reception celebrating the 90th birthday of Reed Whitney Warnick will take place at his home, 240 E. 1600 North, Orem, from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 2. Friends and relatives are cordially invited to attend. Reed married Lola Taylor of Ogden on March 1, 1930 and they are the parents of six children and 27 grandchildren. Both Reed and Lola are active and in good health. Reed was born April 28, 1897 on the farm his father homesteaded near Pleasant Grove. He is the oldest living member of a family of seven sons and three daughters. Reed's father, Charles Peter War I. His long business career was spent in the livestock industry. He was a vice president and executive secretary of the Farm Bureau, an organizer and manager of the Utah County Fair, superintendent superin-tendent of the Livestock Department Depart-ment at the Utah County Fair, secretary of the Ogden Livestock Show and the Intermountain Livestock Show. In 1936 he joined the sheep and wool marketing firm of Merrion and Wilkins and spent the remainder of his career in the wool business either with that firm or as a partner in his own company in Denver, Colo. " '--v.wHWfSj!v Reed W. Warnick Warnick, was born near Forsby, Sweden on April 5, 1850. His mother, Christine M. Larsen, was born Nov. 15, 1855 near Hjorring, Denmark. Both parents emigrated to Utah as early Mormon converts and pioneers. Reed has written extensively ex-tensively on life and his family and growing up in turn of the century Utah. Reed graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in May 1916, attended Utah Agricultural College in Logan, and is a veteran of World |
