Show Key Club attends conference, elects officers i ) ( ) " ' - i S , " I -w. I i ! I , . . - .. . v . i On March 20, 21 and 22, the Pleasant Grove High School Key Club attended the 33rd annual Key Club Convention for the Utah-Idaho District. It was held in Boise, Idaho in the beautiful Red Lion Downtowner. Down-towner. The eight delegates from Pleasant Grove who attended were Bryce Ostler, David Bezzant, Jon Hanks, Chad Horman, Lance Lemon, Martissa Whelchel, Lisa Mattinson and Mickey Edlefson, Kiwanis advisor. The convention offered many workshops and excellent speakers with much information to make the club more effective. One of the main topics was to help build self-esteem self-esteem in themselves and others. Bryce Ostler won the election for Lt. Governor for Division 1, which is the division Pleasant Grove is in. This will be a challenging job. Bryce's job consists of making other clubs stronger, getting their fees in and starting new clubs in schools which do not have a club. Lance Lemon ran for district treasurer. He did a good job campaigning and will have achance u r Lisa Mattinson, vice president; Mick Edlefson, ::;irsr;PLeX - s -:-s p"oiMt-Chad " s representative, was out of town when the photo wastaken to run for another office next year. Mickey Edlefson was appointed as assistant executive director for the Utah-Idaho district. He will be in charge of five divisions in Utah. The club is planning many fun and worthwhile activities from now thorugh the summer to raise money for service projects and for the international convention in Toronto, Canada in July 1987. It will be a lot of fun and will give the delegates needed information to make the club bigger and better. They hope to see many students at the activities and meetings during the summer and next year. All high school students are welcome to join Key Club. The club is a service club and they do a lot of interesting things. The Key Club would like to thank the Kiwanis Club for their time, money and support and Mickey Edlefson for his time and patience in taking them to Boise.
