He was born May 17, 1921 in Draper to William A. and Elizabeth Jane Evans Blaney. He married Virginia Bennett Feb 22, 1946. He was a member of the LDS Church, living in the Alpine 7th Ward. He was a scoutmaster for many years, a Sunday School teacher and home teacher. He worked at U.S. Steel's Geneva Works in the Rolling Mill division for 32 years and retired from that position. He was production manager of the LDS Church cannery for several years. He was a veteran of World War II. He served three years in the Asiatic-Pacifi- c Theater. Survivors include his wife; three sons and one daughter: Forrest Allan Blaney, Dallas, Tex.; Raymond E. Blaney, Tabiona; the life sketch; Zenneth Chamberlain; Lynn Broadbent; and Bishop Moore. Musical numbers included a vocal duet by Thayne Bateman and Ronald Strong, who sang "Beyond the Sunset," accompanied by Afton Healey ; a male quartet of Bateman, Strong, Howard Adamson and Orrin Olsen, who sang a medley of songs; and a vocal solo, "Where is Heaven," by Marge Puriri, accompanied by Ron Crapo, who also performed the prelude and postlude. Melvin Blaney offered the benediction. Pallbearers included Paul Bennett, Melvin Blaney, Vee Edwards Jr., Ed Blaney Jr., Keith Johnson and Ralph Bennett. Honorary pallbearers were Forrest Blaney, Lorry Blaney, Raymond Blaney, Edwin Blaney, Michael Blaney and Keith Densley. Forest Blaney dedicated the gravesite at the Alpine City Cemetery. Michael Alfred Blaney, Lehi; Jody Blaney, Alpine; five grand-children; two brothers and six sisters: Edwin Blaney and Lawrence Blaney, both Kearns; Dorothy Crump, Sandy; Florence Monloya and Betty Troyer, both Sail Lake City; Virginia Brown, Draper; Edna Simmons, Murray; Alene Densley, West Valley City. Services were held Friday, March 7, at the Alpine 7th Ward Chapel under the direction of Bishop Thomas Moore. Larry Crump offered the family prayer and Paul Bennett gave the invocation. Speakers included Jennie Wilde, who gave Robert A. James Robert Anderson James, 60, of Pleasant Grove, died Wed-nesday, March 5, 1986 at his home. He was born April 20, 1925 in Malad, Idaho to David W. and Lurline Anderson James. He married Zoe Adams March 23, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He spent his childhood day-- in Malad, Idaho and at-tended schools there, graduating from Malad High School with honors. He owned and operated his grand-father's farm in Malad for several years and in 1955 moved to Pleasant Grove where he has since been involved in farming. He was an active member of the LDS Church, living in the Pleasant Grove 15th Ward where he had served in many capacities, including a member of the bishopric, Sunday School president, High Priests group leader, activities chairman and a member of the Timpanogos Stake High Council. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; five sons and a daughter: Robert Adams James, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gary (Susan May) Jensen, Las Vegas, Nev.; Bruce Howard James, Den-ver, Colo.; Keith Burton James, Russell Curtis James and Neal Kemble James, all of Pleasant Grove; 16 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Lurline A. Budge, Malad, Idaho; two brothers and a sister: Dr. Garth A. James, Lincoln, Neb.; John A. James and Mrs. Don (Doris) Neild, Idaho Falls, Ida. ; Services were Saturday, March 8, at the Timpanogos Stake Center. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Harriet Mower Sot 4 Harriet Vilate Smith Strong Mower, 89, died March 6, 1986 in American Fork. She was born Dec. 7, 1896, to Warren B. and Harriet A. Harrington Smith. She married Clyde M. Strong May 2, 1917 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 29, 1933. She married Clarence Mower May 16, 1942. He died Nov. 9, 1981. She was a member of the American Fork 7th Ward. She was a chorister and organist and did many readings and sketches. American Fork; Clyde M. Strong, Orem; seven stepchildren, including two she raised: William Mower of Kemmerer, Wyo., and Donald Mower, American Fork; 16 grand-children; 44 great grandchildren; four great great grand-children; two sisters: Mrs. Sarah Monson, Manila; and Mrs. Ida Clark, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel. Services were held Monday, March 10, in the American Fork 7th Ward. Burial was in the Alpine City Cemetery. Survivors include two sons and three daughters: Mrs. Faye Strom and Mrs. Roma Cazier, both of Boise, Ida. ; Mrs. Gwen Willman, Auburn, Wash.; Dallas Strong, Floyd E. Cossey Floyd Emery Cossey, 62, of Pleasant Grove, died Monday, March 10, 1986 at his home following a heart at-tack. He was born Aug. 27, 1923 in Marion, Utah, to Harold and Ada Woolstenhume Cossey. He married Faye Jones in Ely, Nev. She died Aug. 24, 1984. He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove 15th Ward. He had been em-ployed at Geneva Steel as an electrician prior to his retirement. He was a Ham Radio operator. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Survivors include a son, Larry Cossey, Provo; his mother of Pleasant Grove. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Pleasant Grove 15th Ward, 800 North at 100 West. Friends may call at Olpin Family Mortuary, 500S. 300 E., Pleasant Grove Wed-nesday from 7 to 9 p.m. or Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. "Charlie's Monument," the musical play based on the best selling book by Blaine Yorgason. opens March 7 at Babymoon Theatre in American Fork. The play will run Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 8 p.m. through March 22. Tickets are available at Alpine Book and at the door. Babymoon is Marvin Payne's theatre-recordin- g complex in the Pageant of the Arts Center on 400 North and Center. This season began successfully with Payne's critically-acclaime- d one-ma- n 'show ' "The'Planefnaker." ""' '' He returns as Charlie; the tender? crippled man who is ostracized by his fellow citizens in an 1890's frontier town. Rosanna Weeks' Ungerman plays NelJie, whose lovej and faith restores Charlie's self; esteem and ultimately saves his life. Payne brings to the role many years of experience as a nationally-travele- d writer and performer, with 12 albums of original songs, several books, a couple of widely produced plays, and a mounting list of acting successes. Mrs. Ungerman leads the drama program at Provo High and for the past several years has acted leading roles in several plays an-nually. She is also a recording artist, having recorded two albums, and is a perennial favorite at Sundance Summer Theatre. Payne and Ungerman have each, in different years, received trophies from the Utah Drama Guild as "Best Professional AclorActress," and "Charlie's Monument" won the prize in 1985 for "Best One or Two Person Show." This product ion is adapted from the direction of James Arlington, well-know- n actor, writer and director, and the choreography of the late Dee Winlerton. The., play was .written by .
