Pamela Mcintosh, Pleasant Grove, has been named at the Utah County Coordinator of the Professional Family Child Care Association of Utah. Mrs. Mcintosh began her new duties in Februray. She joined the Day Care Association in 1981 and was selected as the Pleasant Grove Area representative in 1982. The associaton was organized in 1971 as a communication line between bet-ween the family day care providers and the Division of Family Services. The association has been involved with the state in revising day care requirements, working with the legislature for more equitable laws for needy families and has a great desire to belter educate the public concerning what to look for in finding fin-ding a desireable child care situation. The association is actively represented on many national, state and local boards and committees. They have several members involved in-volved with the Child Care Advisory Council of Utah. Mrs. Mcintosh said that they are the support system to help providers solve their problems and relieve the stress inherent in a home business that is child related rather than adult oriented. The group provides a free day care placement service to try and help members and parents meet their respective child care needs. Membership in the association affords af-fords businesses the benefit of obtaining ob-taining accident and liability insurance in-surance at a reduced cost. Mrs. Mcintosh mentioned that they have seasonal curriculums and other printed materials all at a nominal cost. They have printed legal contracts and policies to help a parent and provider agree on the services offered and needed. Membership dues are $10 per year. Pam was born in Columbus, Ga., and moved to Utah in 1978. She moved to Pleasant Grove in 1981. She has worked for the United States Civil Service commission at Fort Benning, Ga., for 10 years before moving to Utah. She majored in Criminal Justice at Troy State University at Fort Benning.
