Show Cheri beats odds in raffle Little Cheri White of Pleasant Grove had only one ticket among the hundreds of tickets in the drawing held Saturday, June 21 in Pleasant Grove for a tricot quilt and a Cabbage Patch doll. Her mother said that when the players on the Flyer's team knocked on her door, her tiny daughter over-heard the conversation con-versation and pleaded with her mother for permission to use 'her own' dollar which she had obtained earlier in the day. The risk of not winning was discussed and it was finally decided that she would take a chance. The Flyers hope Cheri enjoys her winning Cabbage Patch Doll. Dennis Holdaway of Orem was surprised when notified of his ticket being drawn to win the tricot quilt. Someone in the crowd expressed a fear that a 'man' may not be as excited to win a quilt as a woman.
