Show Top Ten Flyers win Sandy tourney The 'Flyers' carried home First Place trophies from Bluth Park in Sandy 1 ast week where they out-scored out-scored the Senior Aces in a heart stopper which ended up 3-2 in the championship game of the Sandy City Girl's Softball Senior League. The game was a defensive battle and the teams were tied at 2 up until the last inning. Outfielder Trisha Storey was the first batter up. She got on base with a walk. Team catcher Angela Humble sacrified and out fielder Lori Radmall got the RBI which made it possible for Trisha to score the winning run. The Flyers have traveled to Sandy twice a week since. April to prepare for- summer tournament play. The Sandy League was comprised of 10 girl's Softball (fast-pitch) (fast-pitch) teams, some of which the Flyers may meet again in the state tournament. ' Coaches George Storey and Lane Scott felt the Sandy League provided the type of competition the girl's needed in preparation for the up-coming State Tournament which will &e held in Orem July 18 and 19. |
