Show obituaries Kenneth D. Whimpey Funeral services for Kenneth D. Whimpey, 54, who died Monday, Dec. 8, 1986, of a lingering illness, will be held Saturday, Dec. 13 kat 11 a.m. at the Lehi Horth Stake Center, 900 North and 1200 East. Friends may call at the Wing Mortuary chapel, Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Md Saturday at the church one hour prior to services. He was born in Lehi March 1, 1932, to Don L. i Vera Creer Wmpey. He married eVernAult Feb. 22, - in Lehi. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt We IDS Temple. He was reared and cation in Lehi and to an active part in s. He was involved wic affairs for many Wrs and served as a "ember of the local Chamber of . V ' - Vj Commerce. He was a member of the Lehi Volunteer Fire Department. He served as an elected public official, both as a member of the Lehi City Council and as a member of the Alpine School District Board of Education. He served as chairman of the Lehi Old Folks committee for several years. Whimpey was in the insurance business from 1967 until the time of his death. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served faithfully as a Sunday school teacher, president of the Sunday school, as well as in the MIA organization, Elders quorum presidency, Seventies quorum president and as a tour guide at Temple Square. He is survived by his wife and parents, all of Lehi ; two sons and two daughters: Donald K. Whimpey, Orem; Neil K. Whimpey, Mrs. Keith (Jeana) Christofferson and Jaynee Whimpey, all of Lehi; 12 grandchildren; grand-children; one brother and two sisters, Robert J. Whimpey, Lehi; Mrs. William P. (JaNeane) Jacob, American Fork; and Mrs. Val (Elaine) Tucker, Lehi. Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. . 1 |
