Vikings win one, lose two Jeff Harris scored 23 and Scott Jensen added 19 to boost Pleasant Grove to a 71-59 opening basketball win over Judge Memorial last week. The Vikes took a one point first period lead and then increased the margin throughout the game. Cody Bell had 8, Todd Simmons 7, David Flinders 6, Derrick Dickerson 4 and Greg Grothe and Craig Hayden 2 each in the win. The JV led by Todd Mosher with 15, and Dickerson with 13 and Scott Flinders with 12, rolled over the Bulldogs 70-47. At American Fork Friday, the Cavemen edged PG 55-52. Again Harris was the top Pleasant Grove scorer with 21. In the junior varsity game at American Fork, the Vikes . lost 71-66. 71-66. Saturday, in a game originally scheduled at PG, but played in Lehi because of construction at the Viking school, the Pioneers, led by Matt Calton's 30 point performance, beat the Vikes 87-71. Jensen and Bell had 20 and 19 points against Lehi. PG's junior varsity rolled over the Pioneers 68-43. Pleasant Grove will play at Mountain View Friday and at Orem on Saturday. |
