"I want to expand the men's line to include teen-age- - mainly the high school students," Mrs. Phelps said. " , f i " : S i ' fi Dr. Dan Moss to head Guild Dr. Dan Moss, Orem, has been named to head the Utah Valley Artists Guild for 1986, succeeding Bert Fullmer, Springville, as president. Verneda Dixon, is t; with Betty Liston, corresponding secretary, Diane Asay, treasurer; and Merrilee Webb, recording secretary. Members of the board include Verlaine Allen, Nina Schumann, Bert Fullmer, Cliff Dunston, Leola Stewart, Nola deJong Sullivan, Marrian Christensen, and Donna Ralphs. The purpose of the guild, Dr. Moss said, is to encourage artists and to provide places for them to exhibit their works. When I don't, I usually could have I fj - and sometimes regret it. I like service and quality, but I also shop for bargains. Five that I shop regularly are Reams Super s N ;! Store, Coast to Coast, Barratt's, Young's Furniture and Greenwood Motors. All will v4 x v 1 w correct any problem (or mistake). All give great service. All will special order. They are C t extra milers and fun to know personally. They sell CONFIDENCE in themselves and their X-lK- products. Xv ' Reams is the best grocery store I have ever shopped - selection and price wise. They sfc--k V - ; are alwavs updating and modernizing. I like checking myself through and really like the C f - new moneysavmg coolers! Their produce section has an aesthetic new look! The other "X, I local grocery stores are fine, but Reams sets the pace. v 1,. ! v n v '3 Greenwood came to my attention when his showroom burned down. We became :S'??flfefek f V N' friends and the garage was just three blocks away. His price for our car when new was Ai,Ng.;Sk ,1. V $100 less than anywhere and his service has been 100 (tires, tune-up- s, etc.). Crushing the tablets appears to be a mechanism for producing smaller pieces or a Powder which can either be swallowed or placed in juice or a'er before being taken. Most Medicines in tablet form can be jtely crushed without affecting active ingredients. There are f least two exceptions, ""wever: j'eric Coated Tablets: These have special coatings lat prevent absoprtion in the stomach. Tablets dissolve in the area of the intestine just past the s'omach. Such coatings protect medicine from destruction by stomach acid. Enteric coating so reduces or eliminates mach upset which can occur sortie medicines. wained-Releas- e Tablets: jicines which are intended to released for a prolonged or Sr!!at effect are made int0 raial sustained release for-mations. With these it is possible to take lets less frequently (for st7Uple' two times a day in-- l. of six times a day). ausnmg such tablets may cause . the medicine contained trein to be released at one Baugh receives friend of Education' award Evan Baugh, retired educator and current president of the Alpine Foundation - the fund-raisin- g arm j.' of the Alpine School District is the recepient of the Alpine Education Association's (AEA) "Friend of Education" award for 1985-8- "This honor is awarded to those wno go above and beyond the call of duty to promote education," says Ardy Greening, AEA president. I Baugh said he was very surprised and honored to be chosen for the award. "I had no idea anything was thinking of me in that way," he commented. He retired five years ago from a career which included seventeen years as a teacher and 17 years as a principal. All but his first two years were spent in the Alpine School District. Although retired, he continued his activity with education by helping organize and agreeing to serve as president of the Alpine Foundation, an organization designed to raise money to give to schools in the j district for special programs. is also currently president of iHe Retired School Employees Association (URSA). Baugh's past activity includes c service as president of the Orem Kiwanis Club and of the Secondary School Principals Association, an association which includes the entire II state. He earned his B.S. and Masters degrees in physical education and i health from Utah State University, Jj and has done graduate work at Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. ? He and his wife Clara reside in Orem and have five children and 26 grandchildren. |
