He is survived by his wife and one daughter Anna Marie Dodd Lindon; two sisters j Mrs. Betty Ward, American Fork; and Mrs. Richard (Doris) Huff, Franklin, one Penn.; brother, Dana Dodd Franklin, Penn.; one half-siste- r, Mrs. Joseph (Ruth) Bonchi, Florida. Funeral services were held Saturday July 20, in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Anderson and Sons Mortuary. DeMervit and sl,e preceded him in death. He married Rosita Espino on May H, 1978 in Elko, Nev. lie received his education in Pleasant Grove and Provo schools and joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. For the next 30 years, he traveled all over the world. During World War II he served on the USS North Hampton. He retired in 1971 as a lieutenant commander and moved to Orem. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Rick (Rebecca) Nielsen, Provo; Mrs. Bryant (Janet) Bird, Orem; a stepson and two stepdaughters, Simon Miranda, St. Paul, Minn.; Mrs. Blaine (Katherine) Clark, Spanish Fork; Mrs. David (Rosita) Stanton, San Francisco; 11 grandchildren; two sisters: Virginia Hosking, American Fork; and Alberta Madsen, Ephraim. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, in the Fort Douglas Chapel, Salt Lake City. Burial was in the Fort Douglas Cemetery under the direction of Holbrook Funeral Chapel, Salt Lake City. William H. Tomlinson William H. Tomlinso-n, 62, Salt Lake City, a former resident of pleasant Grove, died Wednesday, July 17, 1385, at his home. He was born Dec. 4, m in Pleasant Grove to James H. and Ella Slaugh Tomlinson. He married Beth Crippin in 1914. She preceded him indeath. He was a member of IheLDS Church. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a welder for Acme Fence Co. Survivors include his children: Ann T. Schneider, Keith William Tomlinson, James Lee Moser, Kathleen Rae Barrus, Linda Styler, Janine Mitchell, Vickie Gloverly, Darwin McKnight, Deanna Bor and Ella Mae Tomlinson; one brother and three sisters: Florence Monsen, Aberdeen, Idaho; John J. Tomlinson, Mon-tevie- Idaho; Cora Kirk, Ely, Nev.; and Reva Taylor, Riverton. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Clyde Tomlinson. Graveside services were held Monday, July 22, at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Olpin Family Mortuary of Pleasant Grove. Opera West presents 'Book of Mormon Oratorio' Opera West, Utah County's opera company, will present Leroy Robertson's "Book of Mormon Oratorio" July 25, 26, 27, 29 and 30 at 8:30 p.m. on the grounds of the Springville Art Museum. Ralph G. Laycock will be con-ducting and this will be the first time the oratorio has been staged outdoors with sets and costumes. An exhibit of Minerva K. Teichert and Arnold Friberg paintings will be open one hour before curtain. Tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for students and senior citizens and may be purchased at the art museum. Dec. 4, the annual Christmas concert with its traditional carol singing, Hallelujah Chorus singing and cello soloist Julie Bevan Zumsteg playing Saint Saens' "Cello Concerto No. 1." v Jan. 22, Young Artists Concert with soloists yet to be chosen by auditons. March 12, "A Night in Vienna," with Gerhard and Micaela Track. April 16, the "Pops" concert including Utah's popular composer and singer, Marvin Payne, as part of the evening. Dr. Ralph G. Those auditioning should come prepared to sing a Broadway musical number. The production will be under the direction of David and Fawn Christopher.
