Show Vikings of the Month named !-..-. " ' - n v V-1 I f ' ' C 'V. r .. I I Pleasant Grove High School PTSA has named the six Vikings of the month for March. They include seniors, Adrienne Eyre and David Biggs; juniors, Lisa Miller and Shane Jacob; and sophomores, Tina Groves and David Haynie. ADRIENNE EYRE Adrienne was born in Provo to Tracy and Betty Eyre. She lived her first 9-12 years in Orem and attended at-tended Geneva Elementary until 1976 when she moved to Pleasant Grove with her parents and older brother, Thane, and became a student at Grovecrest Elementary. She has held numerous leadership positions in church and school and is currently Head Varsity Cheerleader and ZCMI Youngtimer. Adrienne has been on the honor roll for six consecutive years and has been a member of the National Honor Society since she was a sophomore. Participating in the advanced placement program at the high school, Lisa enjoys the challenge that the sciences and math offers her and plans to further her education in these fields after high school graduation. As a family, the Millers have traveled extensively and for 18 months they lived in the Australian Outback where Lisa received many honorary awards in Math, Science, Music and Languages. Outside of school, Lisa enjoys traveling and camping as well as reading, sewing, computers, the piano and her flute. Lisa is active in the LDS Church and serves as an officer in her S.S. and Young Women's organization. She has earned and recently received the Young Women's Recognition Award. SHANE JACOB Shane Jacob a Junior at Pleasant Grove High, has been active in many things. He has been on the sophomore and junior varsity football teams and has been on the junior varsity wrestling team as a freshman, and has wrestled on the varsity team for the past two years. Shane has been active in F.F.A. and his horse judging team placed first at State last year. Shane helps on the family sheep ranch, and herds a herd of sheep on the mountains at Scofield each summer. He enjoys riding horses and is a great asset at the ranch. Shane has earned his Eagle Badge in Scouting and has served in many leadership positions in Scouting. He is a Priest in the LDS Church and has served as both Deacon and Teachers Quorum Presidents. He has served as president in his seminary class. Shane enjoys fishing, hunting, and camping. He is the son of Paul and Carolyn Jacob. TINA GROVES Tina Groves was born in Provo, Utah on August 19, 1969. She has lived in Provo Orem, Zuni, New Mexico and here in Pleasant Grove for the last five years. Some of her interests include sports-basketball and volleyball, music, spending time with her friends and clothes. She enjoys gym, chorus and Spanish. She does some art work and enjoys calligraphy. She has always been an avid reader. Tina is the oldest of five children-three children-three boys and two girls. She is the daughter of Jay and Jeanie Groves. DAVID HAYNIE David Haynie was born in American Fork, son of Karla and Cornell Haynie. He attended Valley View Elementary, Pleasant Grove Jr. High and is a sophomore at Pleasant Grove High School. He has been active in scouting, achieving his Eagle Rank and he has four palms. He is a member of Order of the Arrow. He enjoys sports and has been on the Pleasant Grove Swim Team for eight years, has played basketball, football and loves to ski. His favorite subjects in school are math, science and English. He has many friends, both young and old and has been involved in many service projects. His future plans include a mission for his church and a career in medicine. Adrienne loves playing the piano, organ, dancing and singing. She skiis, rides motorcycles and goes camping with her family. She also enjoys stitchery. She has traveled to Calif., Texas, Hawaii and Canada. Her future plans include attending at-tending Ricks College this fall and majoring in Elementary Education. DAV ID BIGGS David is the son of Niel and Roxie Ann Biggs. He has four brothers, two of whom are married and have children. David has always been a very athletic person enjoying most sports. He likes to eat and will do most anything for food. He has a pet cat named Samson. David enjoys water and snow skiing. He likes to be where the action is and be with other people. David would rather play a sport than watch other people play sports. David enjoys most classes at the high school. His favorite classes are" weight training, silk screening, drafting and of course food class. David is currently running track and hopes to do well in several events. LISA MILLER Lisa Miller, daughter of Thomas and Lillian Miller, is a junior at Pleasant Grove High School. Lisa is a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club and vice president of the Math Club. She participated with the math team at the Snow College Math Competition. Lisa was nominated to the U.S. Achievement Academy as a National Award Winner in Math for 1984 as well as Academic All American Scholar for 1984,- and' received honorary award recognition in Who's Who Among American High School Studnets, 1984-85.
