Show - Wednesday, March 27, 1985 - Page 3 Review Capital improvements considered By MARCELLA WALKER A change is as good as a rest and the Pleasant Grove City Council meet in the courtroom of the public Safety Building for the next two months. At the end of that time the council evaluate the site and decide Tether to continue or not. The Planning Commission will continue to meet in the City Hall because of . he proximity to the city inspector's office. . This is a step in the process of deciding whether to move the city offices, build a new structure or leave things as they are. Mayor David Holdaway asked the council to consider the capital im-provements needed in the city with he possibility of taking care of all the major needs at one time. A citizens committee has deter-mined that the city's major needs are a new library, new city hall, new fire station and ambulance station, and a new city shop. He said that the new city shop could be built with capital im-provement funds for the 1984-8- 5 budget year, approximately $100,000. With bonding, a new library-cit- y hall complex could be built and furnished for about $700,000. With an additional, $300,000 an ambulance and fire station could be added to the city hall-librar- y complex or to the present Public Safety Building, either on the north side or the west side. The city hall-librar- y complex could be built on the property that fronts on Center Street and connects with the present city hall and Public Safety Building. The council discussed adding to the present library, remodeling the city hall and adding to the Public Safety Building. The Community Development Committee could review this in long range planning. The council agreed to proceed to have the proposals reviewed and get more input. In the meantime the city council will try meeting in the courtroom as more seats are available there. The public is invited to all city council meetings. They are held at 7 p.m. each first and third Tuesday. brnnnr I IJULJuXb Imudjy I I vyoff V-if--tt?
