Arthur Broderick presented the family prayer and Margaret Vance played both the prelude and postlude. Marion Healey gave tne invocation. He married Martha Peterson on June g 1928, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a warehouseman for the Alpine School District He was a member of the JfpX 1st LDS Ward and served an LDS mission to the Central States. He was a High Priest, Sunday School teacher, Seventy s group leader' superintendent or Sunday Schools and was active in the MIA. He was a member ot the Utah State Training School ward bishopric. He was a musician and played with the Forbes Family Band and the Carter Family Band. Howard John Engh, 80, Provo, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 1985, at Provo following an illness. He was born June 8, 1904, at Salt Lake City to Arnt and Inga Tomina Johannessen Engh. He married Anna Fern Bush Nov. 22, 1928 in the Salt Lake Temple of the LDS Church. She died Sept. 19, 1981. He married Zella Kelsey Oct. 23. 1982. She died Sept. 15, 1983. He was a businessman and owned Engh Service Center. He was a foreman with Remington Arms. He moved to San Pedro, Calif., in 1944 and worked at a boat harbor. He was owner of Pioneer Asphalt Paving, Engh Construction Con-struction Company and Engh Floral. He was a rose and lawn specialist. He was Church and served an LDS mission to Norway. Nor-way. He was a High Priest and was a counselor and bishop in San Pedro. He was a councilman at Long Beach, Calif. He was a Provo Temple worker. He was a teacher and owned a large private library. Survivors include one son and four daughters: Brian H. Engh, Saudi Arabia; Mrs. Owen W. (Collen) Stout, Orem; Mrs. Wesley E. (Marlene) Carter; Provo; Mrs. Andrew L. all of Salt Laice wiy, and Mrs. George (Elizabeth "Beth") Flinders, Kimball Junction. He was preceded in death by a son and a daughter: Howard John Engh and Mrs. Rawlan L. (Nora) Nelson. Services will be noon Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Lindon 2nd Ward, 528 W.. 100 South, Lindon. Friends may call at the church from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Harold B. Ellison Paul L. Newman dedicated by Ray Pulley. Paul L. Newman, 31, Pleasant Grove, died Friday, Feb. 1, 1985 at a Provo hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1953 in American Fork to Jack F. and Ida Frederick Newman. He married Christine A daughter, Jamie, preceded him in death. Services were held Monday, Feb. 4, at the Pleasant Grove 6th Ward. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove city Cemetery. Services were under Harold Bates Ellison, 59, loving husband, father, grandfather brother and friend, died Feb. 4, 1985, at his home in Lehi of cancer. He was born May 16, 1925, to Alfred Ray and Emma Alida Bates Ellison in Provo. He married Helen Carol Winder Jan. 1, 1944 in Denver, Colo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. When he returned to Utah, he made his home in Lehi where he owned and operated Lehi Cleaners. He was past president of the Jaycees, active in the Lions Club and the Lehi Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Lehi Volunteer Fire Department and chairman of the Hospital Board. A high priest in the LDS Church, he served in the Sunday School, scouting program as district commissioner and in the Lehi- 10th Ward bishopric. He was active in sports and coached many little league teams. When diabetes caused blindness several years ago, he attended a school for the blind and then managed the snackbar at the City-County City-County . building in Provo. He was an example of quiet courage and optimism. He is survived by his wife of Lehi; six sons and one daughter: H. Bruce Ellison, Sandy,. Christensen on bept. 5, 1970 in American Fork. He attended schools in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. He worked for Geneva Steel and most recently for Southam-Warburton A-luminum A-luminum Siding. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove 6th Ward and was a Scout leader. Survivors include his wife of Pleasant Grove: two sons and a daughter: Jack Franklin Newman, Ryan Paul Newman and Nichole . The family prayer was given by Lloyd Hansen. The prelude and postlude were played by Mary Deveraux. The invocation in-vocation was by Jay Christensen. Cheryl Christensen gave the life sketch. Lawana Beckstead, Peggy Smith, Kathy Smith and Carol Zimmerman Zim-merman sang "I Asked the Lord", accompanied by Helen Newman. Gary Deveraux was a speaker. The ladies quartet sang, "These Hands". Bishop Dale Warburton spoke. The benediction was by Roger Chamberlain and the grave was |
