Spanish Fork had been expected to bring an undefeated record into that tourney, but the Payson win renewed hopes in Payson and Pleasant Grove for a Region 8 title. "Payson beating Spanish Fork doesn't surprise me that much," said Viking coach Darold Henry. "Most of our matches with Payson Jim Shumway, Viking makes an unusual move just prior to pinning his Carbon opponent Thursday.
