Cabbage Patch tea party held Every once in a while someone comes along with a clever ideand this is what happened Saturday, Jan. 26, when an afternoon tea was held for all the Cabbage Patch Kids of the Pleasant Grove Sixteenth Ward and their mothers and fathers. Kathie Hawker came up with the idea for the party which was held at the church from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Approximately 60 Cabbage Patch Kids out of this tiny corner of Cabbage Patch .Land came to the party. The "parents" had a wonderful time introducing their own special Cabbage Patch Kid and telling something special about it or the clothes it was wearing. One Cabbage Patch Kid was in her mother's blessing dress. One parent had on a purple dress and her Cabbage Patch Kid had on an identical dress and the Cabbage Patch Kid had a dolly Of its own and it had on an identical purple dress. Many of the "Kids" were wearing their parents' clothes and all were adopted for very special occasions. Everyone participated in games and prizes were given. Refresh-ments were served to the "parents." An "emergency care kit" was given to everyone in attendance. It in-cluded a diaper, bib, and small bottle. Appreciation was given to Kathy for coming up with the fun party idea. She said she heard so many people talking about Cabbage Patch Kids they had received for Christ-mas, that she thought it would be a great idea to get them all together for a party.
