Show Bridal gown should be chosen early number one length for trains. Hats, veils and flowers are all in this season, as well as tea length trains. Check out bridesmaid styles and choose three or four styles you like and bring your bridesmaids in to try them on. Let them make the final choice. After all, the bridesmaid pays for her own dress. Do not forget the mother. Mothers of the brides are the second most important person in the line. They are the hostesses of the weddings. The bride's mother should have her choice of color and style. If you dress mothers alike or differently, it should be their choice, not the bride's. The groom's mother should be given a swatch of the bride's mother's dress and told what you want her to do - match or blend with the mother of the bride. Some styles change every season, but the traditional wedding gown will never change. Remember to shop early. Wedding gowns are mostly custom ordered and this takes time. Where do you start? A calm approach is not only sensible, but more pleasant for everyone concerned. Hold a family conference and consider: -The amount of money you and your family will spend on the wedding. -The number of guests to be invited. -Where and when the wedding will take place. -The form of wedding - formal, semi-formal or informal. -The number of attendants. -The type of reception and where it will be held. Next, decide who is going to pay for what. Traditionally the bride's family has most of the expenses. The groom's family may share any of the expenses they wish, however. The bridal gown should be chosen as soon as the date is set. Shop early. The selection is greater. ; Bridal shops carry only one dress in each style, but they can be ordered in most sizes. The bridal magazines show the very latest styles available and most styles can be ordered for you. Choose your veil or hat when you choose your dress. The newest in wedding gowns is the Sposabella look. Satin, organza and taffeta are still very much in style. We are seeing lots of variations of the neckline and sleeve. The new sleeve looks are called Leg of Mutton. These sleeves are puffed and full at the top and straight at the wrist. Another good sleeve for spring and summer is the short puffed sleeve. High necks are always good, so is the Queen Ann neck. Skirts are very full and lots of ruffles are being worn. The dropped waist is going big this season. Chapel length trains are the |
