This year's Fair is pleased to announce two nights of dancing action! On Wednesday, August 15, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., the State sponsored Square Dance will occur "Under the Big Top!" There will be a lot to see, and hear as caller Ray Reay sounds out the calls to get the feet moving! There will also be refreshments to enjoy! On Friday, August 17, between' 9:00 and 11:30 p.m. everyone can get into the action as KFTN Radio kicks off the County Kickin' County Fair Dance under the Entertainment Tent: There will be a $1 donation for the evening. Charlie Cruise will be the host, plus there will be loads of prizes and free records given away! Fair talent show announced The Utah County Fair Talent Competition will be held again this year. To qualify for the finals at the Utah County Fair, a contestant must place first, second or third in his or her respective category during preliminary competition. The first category for this competition is for those 15 years or under; the second category is for those 16 years and over. The preliminary competition for the Utah County Fair Finals will be divided into two regions; North Utah County and South Utah County. North Utah County includes Orem and all areas to the North. South Utah County includes Prove-- and all areas to the South. North Utah County competition will be held at the Orem Screa Shell, August 9 and 10. Competition for those 15 years and under will be held August -- 9 at 7:30 p.m. Competition for those 16 years and over will be held August 10 at 7:30 p.m. Entry blanks can be picked up at the! Scera Corporate Office, 745 South State, Orem. Telephone 225-256- ' Provo and South Utah County competition- will be held at the Orem Scera Shell, August 2 and 3. Competition for those 15 years and under will be held August 2 at 7:30 -- p.m. Competition for those 16 years and over will be held August 3 at '7:30 p.m. Entry blanks can be picked up at the Utah County Fair Office, 10 Souf n, 200 East, Provo, Utah. Regional first, second and third place winners in each category will advance to the Utah County Fab-Tale- Competition Finals, August 17, 1984 at 7:00 p.m. The finals will be held in the entertainment tent at the Fair Grounds. Don Machan of Provo will be Masters of Ceremonies for this event and says there will be cash awards for the winners in each category: 1st place, $35; 2nd place, $20; and 3rd place, $15. There will be a $3 entry fee. Airman 1C David G. Madsen receives award H. and Lucy W. Allen of Four Oaks, N.C. Airman 1st class David G. Madsen, son of LaRille J. Madsen, Won, has been ' named outs-tanding airman of the quarter for the 6514th Test Squadron at Hill Air force Base, Utah. The competition was based on job knowledge, significant leadership qualities, ability to be an articulate and positive spokesman for the Air Force and other accomplishments. Madsen is an aircraft fuel systems mechanic. His wife, Anita, is the daughter of retired Air Force Master Sgt. John |
