He was born Dec. 14, 1914 in American Fork, the son of Thomas A. and Ann Preston Barratt. He married Margaret Berquist Sept. 17, 1937 in Salt Lake Ci'y. He was in the lumber, con-struction and real eslale business. He graduated from the University of Utah. He was active in civic affairs. He was a veteran of World War K. He is survived by his wile, American Fork; two sons and two daughters, Jerry P., Perry (Diane) Bruno, Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers, Harry E., American Fork, Glen C, Pleasant Grove. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred D. Barratt. There will be graveside services only at the American Fork Cemetery Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 11 a.m. (At the request of the deceased there is to be no visitation). Burial will be in the American Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Anderson and Sons Mortuary. j - I V J f; 3 - - -- 1 , ' y - j Ida Jewel Lee Berry, 63, died Dec. 24, 1983 in the American Fork Hospital. She was born March 31, 1920 in Covington Co., Miss., to Joseph Claude and Mary Viola McDonald Lee. She married Hubert Shelby Berry Oct. 3, 1941 in Hattiesburg, Miss. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a member of the American Fork 16th LDS Ward. She served in leadership positions in both stake and ward Relief Society. She served two stake missions in Miss, and a mission in Missouri with her husband in 1978 and 1979. She was employed for several years at the Utah State Training School. She is survived by her husband, three sons and three daughters, Roger E. Berry, Glen D. Berry, Dale E. Berry, all Salt Lake Cityl; Mrs. Ann Meyers, Hobbs, N.M.; Mrs. Darwin (Charlotte) Poulsen, Highland; Mrs. Dan E. Our dear husband and beloved Dad and Grandpa, Bertrand Beck, died suddenly at home Sunday, Dec. 25, 1983 of heart failure. Though his physical heart wore out at the age of 74, he will con-tinue to live through the special memories he left with his family. Bert was born Oct. 5, 1909 in Lehi, the son of Alma and Sarah Fox Beck, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Verland Fowler, Aug. 24, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a long-time employee of Tooele Army Depot prior to his retirement in 1969. He was an active member of the LDS Church, having served a mission in the Northwestern States in 1930-3- being a coun- - B. and Michael A., both of Lehi; Merrill F., Sunset Beach, Hawaii; daughter, Mrs. Lee (Barbara J.) Carlton, Sandy; 13 grand-children, 5 great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Elwin, Whitticr, Calif.; Mrs. Mildred Garily, Orem; Mrs. Dick (Clista) Holdaway, Vineyard; Mrs. Fae Peck, Mrs. Alma Henderson, Mrs. EArl (June) Chilton, all of Lehi. He was preceded in death by a brother Art. Viewing will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, at the Wing Mortuary, Lehi, from 6 to 9 p.m. and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 Thursday, Dec. 29. Funeral services will be held Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. in the Lehi Stake Center. Burial will be in the Lehi City Cemetery. PRKSTON J. Lee; one sister, Mrs. Ruby Carmeron, both 0f Odessa, Texas. She was preceded in death by a father and two brothers. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the American Fork West Stake Center. Burial was in the American Fork City Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Bishop Michael S. Pratt of the American Fork Six-teenth Ward. Casket-bearer- s were Brent Poulsen, Chad Berry, BERTRAM) BECK seling in the bishopric, a high council member, and serving in other capacities. At the time ot-hi-s death, he was a high priest and a Provo Temple worker, a calling he deeply treasured. He is survived by his wife, Lehi; sons, Jerry Alice H. Rassmussen Alice Henrichsen Rassmussen, 89, of Pleasant Grove, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 1983, at the American Fork Hospital. She was born Nov. 29, 1894, to Mary Elizabeth Hadfield and Alfred George Henrich-sen in Provo. On Jan. 28, 1914, she married Clarence Arthur Rasmussen in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints. He died Nov. 19, 1983. She attended the Timpanogos School in Provo. She was devoted to music, singing in choirs and choruses throughout her life. In her youth, she sang with the Provo LDS Tabernacle Choir, which performed for U.S. President Taft when he spoke at the Provo tabernacle. Mrs. Rasmussen was active in the LDS Church and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Survivors include three sons and four daughters: Clarence Wesley, Lehi; Eldon Earl, Salt Lake City; Thoral Leon, West Valley City; Mrs. Malcolm (Ida Mae) Christiansen and Mrs. Blaine (Mary) Nielsen of Pleasant Grove; Mrs. Melvin (Barbara) Jex, Payson; and Mrs. Bruce (Alene) Fugal, American Fork. Also, 51 grandchild-ren, 141 great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters: Arnold Hen-richsen, Pleasant Grove; Earnest Henrichsen, West Covina, Calif.; Mrs. B. M. (Ruth) Jolley, Orem; Mrs. Don (Vera) Hales, Pleasant Grove; and Mrs. Cliff (Eva) Nelson, Lake View. A daughter, Donna, and a son, Max Alfred, preceded her in death. Services were Dec 27, in the Pleasant Grove Sixth LDS Ward Chapel. The family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Pleasant Grove Public Library. Dance til New Year An LDS Singles New Year's Eve dance will be held New Year's Eve at the Apollo Dance Hall, 30 N. Church Street, American Fork. The dance will feature the Soft Touch, a contemporary band from Kamas. "It will begin at" 9 p.m. Admission is $4 a person. An hors d'ouevre buffet will be served. All LDS singles from Nephi to Salt Lake County are being in-vited The Hoot '11 Holler Square Dance Club of Utah County is sponsoring a free square dance New Year's Eve at the American Fork 5th Ward, 381 S. 300 East. The dance will start at 8 p.m. and end at midnight. Dancing will be on all levels from beginners classes, mainstream, plus tips. The flashlight is for a fun dance and the finger food is for refreshments. All square dancers are invited and if you want to come as a spectator, you, too, are invited.
