Junior High names Trojans of the Month Pleasant Grove Junior High School has named its Trojans of the Month for October and November, Named to the October honor are Jerel Newman and Dusty Davis from the ninth grade; Elizabeth Barnes and Jonathan Jenkins of the eighth grade; and Alicent Heelis and John Morton of the seventh grade. Those selected in November were Jeremy Larson and Carolyn Worthington from the seventh grade; Ethan Weeks from the eighth grade and Jason Shelton and Jayleen Walker of the ninth grade. Trojans of the Month are chosen by their teachers with a boy and a girl from each grade usually being selected. j They are chosen for academic and citizenship reasons and for j exemplifying the standards of Pleasant Grove Junior High School. i Last Week's Temperatures The thaw Monday felt good after the freezing rain and snows of the past week. The low temperature of the year thus far occurred on Dec. 21 when the temperatures dropped to 8 degrees. Terry graduates in diving Kelvyn D. Terry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyman F. Terry, who resides in Pleasant Grove, will graduate as a professional deep sea diver from the Divers Institute of Technology, Inc., Seattle, Wash., on Dec. 30, 1983, having completed six months of intensive training. Kelvyn made qualification dives to 200 feet using air and He02 mixtures. He learned to complete various underwater tasks including burning and welding while using conventional hard and light weight gear, SCUBA, Hookah, Desco and mixed-ga- s units. In addition to the underwater j tasks, he also studied diving physics, physiology, underwater photography, use of explosives, gas mixing and analyzing, manifold operations, underwater television and sound devices, saturation theory and techniques, recom-- ! pression chamber operations, and jr v , diving safety and standards. ' After a short vacation, Kelvyn will pursue employment in his newly acquired skills, |
