Show Thursday, October 7, 1982 ' Pleasant Grove Public Notices , Hatch sponsors bill to honor American Women with History Week attention on the role of women in our heritage. Women have provided the impetus for many important social reforms and have made individual contributions in the fields of science, education, medicine, religion, and govern-ment. They have helped build America as home makers and pioneers, and they have clearly led the way in establishing the charitable and . philanthropic organiza-tions which have greatly improved the quality of American life," Hatch said. "I salute my own state of Utah which has always been a leader in women's rights. Prior to statehood, women in the Utah Territory were the first women in the United States or its territories to vote in a general election. I was delighted with Utah's celebration of 'Women's History Week' in 1982 and encouraged them to participate in a similar fashion in 1983," Hatch said. March 6, 1983 is designated as "Women's History Week" to recognize and honor American women for their contributions enhancing the quality of our country's economic and social life, ac-cording to Sen. Orrin Hatch, Hatch is the sponsor of S.J. Res. 215 which designates this special week. Hatch sponsored similar resolutions in 1980 and 1981 to recognize the role women have played in shaping American history. "In March 1982, Utah, along with other States of the Union, celebrated 'Women's History Week.' This special week was met with a great deal of en-thusiasm and support. To help us further recognize the con-tributions of women in all aspects of our society, I reintroduced this solution," Hatch said. "President Reagan proclaimed that the week focus our nation's BflDTTOIES Notice of Public Meeting The Pleasant Grove City Planning Com-mission will meet Thursday, Oct. 7, 1982, at City Hall.
