Show Cadmus Club enjoys music at meeting President Afton Atkinson presided over i the first Cadmus Club meeting of the new year 1 1982-83. The members ! met at the home of " Catherine Rees. Fae Belliston of the ; Education Committee introduced the program. pro-gram. The theme for ' the year is "Continuing ; the Enjoyment of the Arts of Cadmus Families and Friends." In keeping with this i theme a program ; "Enjoying the Art of ; Music" was given by ; Bettie Davies and ; Family, the daughter ; and grandchildren of Ina and the late Bert I Page. Bettie introduced the ' musical numbers by ; poetry and rhyme: Randy, age 8, and ; Jeffery, age 10, each ' played a piano solo; ; Steven played a trombone trom-bone solo, "Songs My Mother Taught Me"; 1 son Mark and , daughter-in-law Kira 2 sang Irish Folk songs and she accompanied 1 on the harp; Kira then sang a Brahms solo: ' Anne and Bettie played a piano duet, "Ballet" by Debussy; Mike ! played a saxaphone solo, "The "Entertainer"; Jeff on the piano and Mike on the bass and Mike on the trombone played "Moonglow"; Alan played "Vadango" on ;' the baritone horn; Steve on the trombone trom-bone and Alan baritone played Scheharazade; ' Anne played a piano solo by Brahms. Bettie plays the piano, organ, viola and saxaphone. She and her husband. Dr. Duane Davies both play with a symphony orchestra. Bettie paid special tribute tri-bute to her mother who encouraged her in her musical talents. A luncheon was served. Assisting' Catherine were Jean Killpack and Ina Page. |
