Show Junior High home ec. students hear bank manager's lecture " Students of Miss i i Finch's 1st and 3rd ! period' Home Economics class i received instruction 1,1 from W. Lee Bean, Manager of the I American Fork Branch of First Security Bank. Thursday's instruction in-struction consisted of checks and checking accounts. Students learned the basic elements of a check, how to write checks out and how to balance a checkbook. Friday's instruction revolved around loans. Students were instructed in-structed on the types of loans made by a commercial com-mercial bank including I tne regulations and ! interest rates associated with each. I The Thursday and I Fnday sessions were the culmination of a weeks long instruction on consumerism put together by Miss Shamo, a student teacher from BYU. According to Mr. Bean, First Security Bank's American Fork branch has been very heavily involved in teaching, including classes at Am. Fork Jr. High and Am. Fork High School. "It is part of what we . feel is a very big responsibility that a bank has to its community com-munity in seeing that its , residents are properly informed and knowledgable about financial matters." Mr. Bean welcomes any community, civic or school entity to call upon them for their services." |
