Cornell and Karla Haynie, has received his Eagle Badge in ceremonies held in the Pleasant Grove East Stake court of honor. David is the third and last son in the Haynie family to re-ceive the Eagle Award. He has had this as his goal and is proud to follow after his brothers to complete this goal. He earned 35 merit bages for his Eagle and now has earned five more. David is 13 years old. He attends Pleasant Grove Junior High School and is a Deacon in the Pleasant Grove Seventh Ward. He has been very active in school and church affair serving as Senior patrol leader and earn-ing the Faith In God Award. He served as governor at Valley View School. David loves sports. He has been on the swim team for seven years, the baseball team for three years, football team for five years and has played basketball for three years. He loves to read, build models, camp and w-- - DAVID HAYNIE hike. He is a very good baby setter and helps others willingly. He enjoys learning and especially likes mathematics in school. He plans to go on a mission for the church and attend college to prepare for his profession. For his Eagle project David painted and stenciled trash con-tainers at the city parks. Image Dynamics courses to begin Image Dynamics, a ' new learning center that deals with all aspect of improving one's image ia opening at 210 E. 1300S.,Orem. One of the instruc-tors is Pat Mosher of Pleasant Grove. She said that unlike many other centers that focus on only one area of Image Dynamics has gathered together the very best recources to offer a complete image counseling service. The center will be offering professional three to four hour courses in building a self-imag- color analysis, wardrobe de-sign, makeup artistry, and health and fitness. There will also be one hour aerobic classes every day. In addition to each course they offer a complete personal computer analysis to insure a more person-alized program. V, ; I x v :) - e. : UNDN STUDENTS and parents enjoy National School Lunch Week which was celebrated last week. Nutritious lunches are served daily to school children at a nominal cost. School Lynch Weed held Six hundred and fifty-eig- ht hungry mouths downed a lunch of Oriental chicken, rice, vegetables, and cookies last Wednesday, Oct-ober 13, when Lindon Elementary School ii observed National School Lunch Week. The annual event practiced by most the elementary schools gives parents an op-portunity to enjoy lunch with their children and to learn firsthand what kind of meals are being offered to the students. It also gives the lunchroom staff a chance to show off their efficiency. They started serving lunch at 11:50 and within 45 minutes they had served twice the number they usually feed each day. The lunch was prepared under the direction of Nancy Hansen, lunch manager. Veloy Pulley, Joan Jeppson and Jane Jacobsen were assisting. The crew also had the help of the 5th grade students. The speaker will give instruction on how to prepare your garden for winter, tips for healthier plants and more successful spring planting, and control of insects and pests which may winter over in the soil. The public is invited. |
