Show CUWCD to help with bill for study The Central Utah Water Conservancy Conser-vancy district (CUWCD) will pay $10,000 of a $13,843 bill owed by the Timpanogos Planning and Water Management Agency (TPWMA) for engineering costs. The district board agreed to pay $10,000 for the engineering costs to study the feasibility of running untreated water .through the Murdock Canal for treatment in the Salt Lake Valley. Don Christiansen, Mayor of Alpine and chairman of the Timpanogos agency, presented the bill before the board at its Oct. 14 meeting, where payment of the $10,000 was approved. Board member Robert Hilbert commended the Timpanogos agency for its prompt and responsible action in having the study completed and said that while he didn't vote initially to fund the study, he felt the board had an obligation to follow through now that the study had been completed. Included in the bill was $6,288 to ARIX Engineers in Orem and $5,141 to Bingham Engineers out of Salt Lake for the study. The cost also included $2,414 to Dr. Robert C. Hoehn of the Virginia Polytechnical Institute for a study of the environmental affects on the water carried through the Murdock Canal. |
