Show Cross country team races to fourth in region Sporting the best cross country team in years, the Vikings raced to a fourth place finish in a tough Region Seven race last week. Mike Fisher, just a sophomore, placed sixth with a clocking of 15:50.9 with teammate Andy Mingl placing 9th and David Maughan taking the 14th spot. Timpview won the meet with 37 points followed by Orem 62, Mountain View 79 and just a point back, Pleasant Grove with 80. Provo, Uintah and American Fork rounded out the team scoring. Other place winners for the Vikes were, Ken Colyar 23, Scott Humble 28, Ron Reynolds 29, and Sean Brown 31. In the girls Region race, Marcelle Brashear finished in 26th place. She is just a sophomore and shows excellent promise for the years ahead. At the State Meet held in Sugar House Park in Salt Lake City, Mingl was the top PG finisher with 16:27.06 clocking good for the 17th spot. Fisher was 32nd. M. t . - ' ' .
