Show Effects of TV on children to be discussed at meeting Did you know that you can have a ' positive; influence on the effect of TV on yourself and your children, even the influences in-fluences that are indirect in-direct and un-noticeable? un-noticeable? A discussion on this subject will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Kiwanis Room in the basement of the Public Safety Building, 100 E. 100 S., Pleasant Grove. The meeting is sponsored by the Utah Association of Women. If you have been concerned about the effects of TV on your family and are realistic enough to know that for good or bad TV is here to stay, you will be happy to know of this meeting, said Annette Fugal, president of the Pleasant Grove Chapter oftheUA ofW. Peggy Anderson and Sandra Skousen have been studying the ef fects of TV .. violence, sex,', inuendos and. indirect in-direct advertising on children for many years and are just completing a book on the subject, Mrs. Fugal said. They have many creative ways to help parents arm their children against potential harms in the shows currently being shown without destroying the enjoyment en-joyment of TV viewing, she added. In fact, many of the tools actually increase viewer participation and thus the enjoyment, she pointed out. The public is invited to attend this meeting.
