Show Local Police Officer Talks To Local Women's Club been given during the past summer under the direction of Mrs. Yashko. Members commend com-mend Mrs. Yashko for her efforts in beginning this worthwhile community com-munity service. Other possible projects were discussed for further consideration. Monday September 10, the American Association of University Univer-sity Women met at Heritage School for their first meeting of the 1979-80 year. President Ruth Yashko conducted the meeting. A brief preview of the study topics for the year was given by program chairman chair-man Eva Reimschussel. The group will study two topics this year, Families Facing Change and Managing Resources for Tomorrow. Tomor-row. To begin the first topic, Chairman Arlene Jense arranged for Officer Of-ficer Steve Frampton of the Pleasant Grove Police Department to speak to the group on the subject of child abuse. He discussed various form of child abuse and brought out the fact that emotional abuse or neglect of children are also serious form of abuse. Officer Frampton urged the group to be FRAMPTON aware of the signs of child abuse, and to report any abuse to the authorities. A question ques-tion and answer period followed to complete a stimulating and thought provoking study period.
