Show Election Year: Three Councilmen Will Be Elected This year, the citizens of Pleasant Grove will elect three councilmen to serve on the City council. These position posi-tion are four year terrns and the present councilmen with terms that expire this year are Ford West, Grant Atwood and Walter Reimschussel. Councilmen West and Reimschussel have indicated that they will not run for re-election, Councilman Atwood has not indicated that he will seek reelection re-election but has not ruled out this possibility. The nominating conventions have been scheduled and are set for September 19th at 8 p.m.. The locations loca-tions for these conventions are noted in another article in the Review. An optional form for persons desiring to run for office is to file a petition of nomination with the City Recorder. All residents of the city are encouraged en-couraged to register so that they can paticipate in the November election. Persons who have moved into the city or within the city must register in their new voting district. Registration Registra-tion can be done by mailing in a registration form to the countv clerk. These registration by mail forms are available at city hall and must have been received in the clerk's office of-fice by October 22nd to effect proper registration. Citizens can also register in then-neighborhoods then-neighborhoods through their local registration agent on October 16th and 30th. A list of the registration agents and their address will be published later in the Review. For voters who expect to be out of town on election day, absent voter ballots will be available at city hall. To be able to obtain one of these ballots the person must first make application, therefore anyone out of the area such as missionaries or servicemen ser-vicemen should obtain an application for absent voter ballot in time for the application to be returned and processed. |
