Show Funeral Rites for Oscar Lee Swenson Set for Thursday Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, Dec. 1 for Oscar Lee Swenson, 60 of Lindon, who died at his home Nov. 28, 1977, after a long illness. The services will be held in the Lindon Ward Chapel at 11 a.m. and burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Oscar Lee Swenson was born April 9, 1917 in Lindon, Utah to John and Bertha Whiteley Swenson. He married Thelma Boren Aug. 16. 1937 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was an active member of the LDS Church. Lee was also an active member of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce and Lindon Lions Club. He was given a life membership in the C of C this past year at their annual banquet. He was a familiar figure in Pleasant Grove, owning and operating Lee's Barber Shop at the head of Main Street for a number of years. He was active in civic affairs being a director in the Chamber of Commerce for a number of years, and was an active supporter of community activities to build the growth of Pleasant Groive. Survivors include his widow of Lindon, three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Peterson, Fortuna, Calif.; Mrs. Paul (Marilyn) Max-field, Max-field, Pleasant Grove, Mrs. Reed (Connie) Hansen, Lehi, Utah; seven grandchildren, six brothers, one sister, Eldon J., Mrs. Nellie York, both of Orem; Orin, Joseph and Wesley all of Lindon and Wendell, Pleasant Grove. |
