He has also been patrol leader and Ven-turer Post commiteeman. As a cub scout he earned the Arrow of light award which is the highest award in the cubbing program. He is currently a member of the Order of the Arrow. The new Eagle Scout enjoys wood carving, stamp collec-ting, reading, skiing and fishing. For his Eagle project Troy supervised the cleaning of the grounds at the PI. Grove Rodeo arena, both before and after the summer season's use. Douglas Wood continues to progress and has recieved a silver palm. Other boys honored were Kent Hone, David Young, Chad Holdaway and Richard Johnson who recieved Star Badges. JAYVEES Kristina Boyer, Kelly Marchbanks, Deone Walker, Lori "Inornton, Carolyn Bennion and Connie Allgire, form strong Jayvee volleyball team at PI. Grove High. Girls Volleyball Going Strong at Pleasant Grove High School Nov the coming J.V. tourney by defeating Tooele in a non-leagu- e match. GIRLS VOLLEYBALL "Nice set; good spike; great block." The sounds of volleyball prictice in the girls gym. Between-th- fall Sof-tball season and the winter basketball season come the high school volleyball season. In this area an exclusive high school sport for girls. Mrs Burton, coach, has a young team, "lots of sophomores" working out daily between 2-- 4 p.m. Region Six matches are held on Tuesdays and Wed-nesdays. The next match, between Spanish Fork and Uintah is scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 16. Under and unusual format, that match will be held at American Fork High School. J.V. TOURNAMENT On Wednesday, November .17, Pleasant Grove willvhost the Region Six J.V, tour-nament. The round robin af-fair will have each team playing each school twice. Beginning at 3:00 p.m., the event should last several hours. STATE TOURNEY BYU will host the State Girls Volleyball Champion-ships on December 2,3,4 in the. Richards building. Volleyball fans will be able to see all four school classsifications in action on those three days. P.G.s J.V. squad tuned up for SUSAN PHILLIPS On Varsity 4 years One of the more ac-tive girl athlets, Susan has been a member of the varsity teams sin-ce her freshman year. Pineapple Workers Youth Developmental En-terprises has a program which is available to young men in high schools for the upcoming '77 season. This year, there are approximately 800 job openings. The work is on the Islands of Maui and Lanai, Hawaii. This job program runs March 10 thru August 27, and April 22 thru September 31, and one regular summer program which runs June 3 thru August 27. Dormatory type housing is provided with 3 nutritious meals and a snack served each day at $2.75 per day. The young man will spend 8 days on tour of three islands at the end of their stay in Hawaii. They could expect to bring back between $1,300 $2,000 in cash for the 5 mon-th programs and $300 - $700 for the summer program (June thru August). Background: 1. On the 15th day of Oc-tober, 1976, Tempe Steel Corporation, the owners of real property as shown by the last assessment rolls, situated in the tract herein described, requested that said tract of land be taken within the limits of Pleasant Grove City. 2. Petitioners caused an ac-curate plot or map to be made and certified to by a competent surveyor to be filed with the City Recorder together with said petition. 3. Said tract of land is con-tiguous to Pleasant Grove City and there is no proper reason why it should not be annexed to and made a part of said city. first publication. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and first publication. Passed by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City this 19th day of October, 1976. W. Now, Therefore be it or-dained by the City Council of Pleasant Grove City, Utah: Section 1. That the city lim-its of Pleasant Grove be and the same are hereby extended and enlarged so as to in-clude the following described tract of land in Utah County, Commencing 57.42 feet South and 547.8 feet West of the center of Section 29, Township 5 South, Range 2 East, Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence North 651.42 feet: thence East 378 feet more or less; thence South 651.42 feet; thence West 378 feet more or less to the point of beginning. Be it further ordained and declared that when this or-dinance takes effect, the said tract of land above described shall thenceforth be within the corporate limits of Pleasant Grove City and all ordinances, jurisdiction, rules, and obligations to or pertaining to said Pleasant Grove City are extended over and made applicable and per-tinent to the said tract of land. Section 2. Upon passage of this ordinance, the City Recorder of Pleasant Grove City shall file and he is hereby directed to file a copy of the map or plat above-mentione-duly certified, together with a certified copy of this ordinance. Ad-ditionally, the City Recorder is hereby directed to file with the State Tax Commission within 10 days of the passage of this ordinance notice of the annexation accomplished by this ordinance. Such notice shall include the foregoing description of the area affec-ted and shall contain a cer-tification by the secretary that all necessary legal requirements relating to such annexation have been fully completed. Subsequent to the recor-ding of the annexation plat and ordinance it was discovered that there had been an error in the descrip-tion of property annexed This ordinance is passed to correct the error in the previous ordinance.
