Show Funeral Services Held Monday for Wendell E. Thome Funeral services were held Monday, October 28, 1974 at 2 p.m. in the Olpin Family Morturay for Wendell E. Thor-ne, Thor-ne, 74, of Biloxie, Miss., who died Thursday at a Gulf Port, La. hospital of Cancer. Mr. Thome was born April 2, 1900 in Pleasant Grove, the son of James D. and Luella Ellsworth Thome. He married Harriet Barber on Feb. 19, 1941 in Salt Lake City. The marriage marri-age was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After leaving Utah County area he lived in Alexandria, Va., and has lived in Biloxi since his retirement. He was an active member of the LDS Church and served as a missionary in the Eastern States Mission. He was bishop of the Alexandria LDS Ward, and was a member of the stake High Council in Alexandria and in Biloxie. He graduated from BYU. He was director of foreign affairs for the Federal Reserve Board in Washington. Survivors include his widow and a brother Cyril James Thome of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lucille Thome, Orem; nieces and nephews. |
