As your treasurer, I believe that I should be a conservative, and to the best of my power try to keep taxes out of the inflationary inflation-ary spiral. As a career radio station operator, oper-ator, I have written or caused to be broadcast a minimum of 365,-000 365,-000 public service announcements at no expense to charitable organizations, or-ganizations, civic clubs, local and Federal Government Agencies, and just citizens in distress. As a radio man I gained a good knowledge of the business problems prob-lems of our area. I'm dedicated to sound financial finan-cial management of our public funds at a time when inflation and interest ratees are in the disaster dis-aster area. The biggest problem facing the treasurer's office for the next four years is to keep the office moving ahead with modern procedures and accounting systems. I plan to initiate new accounting account-ing procedures that are up-to-date and will accomodate the needs of the county for the next 20 years. I will try to keep the taxes down by encouraging a lower mill levy if the assessments are higher. I will advise the commissioners commis-sioners to reduce spending where possible and I will keep county funds active at the highest secured secur-ed interest rates. As a young man I gained a good understanding of basic citizenship citi-zenship and personal behavior as a Boy Scout in the troop of scoutmaster scout-master Lloyd E. Oaks (father of President Dallin H. Oaks). I have been an active scouter since then. Other experience includes being be-ing Panorama Chairman, U.S. Navy Na-vy Gunnery Officer, Secretary of the Eastern States Mission, Bishop Bish-op Provo Seventh Ward, pnd as a Provo business man I have attended at-tended the "School of Hard Knocks."
