Show Funeral Rites Held Monday for Delia R. Smith Funeral services for Delia Richins Smith, 73, who died last Thursday at the Utah Valley Val-ley Hospital after a short illness, ill-ness, were held Monday, Oct. 28 in the Lindon Ward Chapel. Bishop Tyler Rogers was in charge. Speaker at the services was President Leon Walker, and a life sketch was given by Joan McCandless Seely. Bishop Rogers Rog-ers also gave remarks. Musical numbers were a vocal vo-cal solo by Wilma Taylor, accompanied ac-companied by Donna Walker, a vocal trio, Aaron Walker, Arthur Ar-thur Day, Charles Pope, accompanied accom-panied by Ida Day, and a vocal solo by Mr. Pope, also accompanied accom-panied by Ida Day. Prayers were given by Kenneth Ken-neth Virgil Wootton, J. R. Adams, Ad-ams, and Thomas R. Harward, with the grave being dedicated in the Orem City Cemetery by Earl Giles. Pallbearers were grandsons, Kenneth Virgli Wootton, Dale E. Bolinder, Ray A. Berry, Dan R. Berry, Curtis L. Smith, James Jam-es Smith and Joseph K. Seely. Mrs. Smith was born Mar. 24 1901 in Pleasant Grove, the daughter of John Alma and Mary Jane Ellis Richins. She married Rudger Smith on Mar. 18, 1925 at Salt Lake City. He died July 30, 1969. She was a member of the LDS Church and lived in the Lindon Ward for many years. She was a member of Daughters Daugh-ters of Utah Pioneers. She graduated from BYU and taught school. She is survived by two daughters and a son, Nyal Smith and Mrs. Herman (La-Neve) (La-Neve) McCandless, both of Lindon, Lin-don, and Mrs. Rex (Janice) Berry, Tooele; 15 grandchildren, grandchild-ren, six great-grandchildren, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Mrs. Hazel West, American Fork, Mrs. Mable Baxter, Magna; and Frank and Alfred Richins, both of Pleasant Grove. |
