Show Professional Art Show Free at Utah Tech The 7-member faculty of the commercial art department depart-ment at Utah Technical College at Salt Lake are exhibiting some of their own artistic works in a two-week show running November 8 through 19 during regular college hours. Site of the exhibition is the President's Room in the College Center, Redwood Road campus. Although the faculty teach the elements of commercial art (everything from typogra: phy to cartooning, silk screen production to advanced advertising ad-vertising illustration), most of the work being exhibited consists of their own fine arts endeavors in watercolor and oil painting. However, there are also some examples of professional commercial art work. Cumulative teaching experience exp-erience at Utah Tech amou nts to 68 years for the 7 instructors. They include Ralph Huddlestone, Grant M. Hulet, I. Douglas Jordan, Joseph Lema Jr., Allen K. Reinhold, Lois Snyder and Fred B. Van Dyke. Several have worked for prominent advertising agencies, while others have had background as book illustrators, commercial comm-ercial product designers, animation artists and studio production managers. |
