Vegas Crooner Into Condos; Timeshare Sales Proposed A national timeshaK marketing mar-keting firm controlled by singer Wayne Newton has acquired an interest in the Silver Cliff Village condominium condo-minium project on lower Woodside Ave. The company apparently will begin shortly to market the units on a shared-ownership basis. City Councilman Bob Wells, whose Qudriga Development De-velopment Co. handled the construction management for the project, said the Newton group has gone into a joint venture with MHP Realty and First Western Savings Services, the original origi-nal developers of the project. Wells added the developers turned to the timeshare marketing approach because they couldn't find individual buyers for the 21 luxury condominium units at Silver Cliff. The Planning Commission approved the timeshare conversion con-version of four of the 21 units last week, but the proposal was tabled by the City Council the following day pending further clarification clarifi-cation of the issue. The group apparently plans to time share all 21 units, but wanted to start by selling four. Wells said the owners wanted Planning Commission Commis-sion approval to timeshare all of the units, but evidently commissioners were confused con-fused by the request and onlv approved the conversion of four. |
