Show About the artist ... In this issue FOCUS introduces a new contributor, artist and naturalist, Kayo Robertson. Kayo is already known to many in Summit County for his Blue Sky Honey. He is also the man neighbors turn to with questions about unusual bird sightings. Other than his love for our natural environment, Kayo's credentials include five years of experience as a biology teacher for summer programs at the University of Utah and five years as a Scoutmaster. Last year he taught art, music and biology at Realms of Experience in Salt Lake City. Kayo traces his interest in nature back to the age of five. By the time he was twelve he noticed many of the. places and creatures he loved being systematically destroyed. It is his hope that through teaching and writing, people will become aware of. , , V the need to protect our natural environment. The grizzly bear was once a common sight in Utah. He is now extinct in this area. Kayo explains that grizzlies were killed to make the range safe for our herds. He is the only creature who has no innate fearof man. |
