Jr. , Bob Seagren, and Stan Barrett, the first man to ' break the sound barrier on land. They will be joining athletes from the U.S. Alpine and Nordic Ski Teams, recently recent-ly returned from the Lake Placid 1980 Winter Olympics, including Phil and Steve Mahre. Pete Patterson, Cindy Nelson, Christin Cooper, Walter Wal-ter Malmquist, Jim Denney and Stan Dunklee, In each of the past four years that Paul Masson Vineyards, a division of Seagrams. Inc., has sponsored the celebritv event, over $100,000 has been placed in the coffers of the. United States Ski Educational Foundation, Found-ation, the fundraising arm of the U.S. Ski Team. Joining Paul Masson Vineyards as patrons of the event will be, a 'number of major U.S. corporations. corpora-tions. The proceeds are used to help train U.S. amateur athletes for national and international competition including in-cluding the Olympics. Paul Masson Vineyards have long been one of this country's leading supporters of amateur sports comoetition. Scheduled among this year's activities are giant slalom races, grudge matches, a broomball hockey game, a cross country tour, mountain picnic lunches, a reception and a banquet. A special feature this year includes ski racing clinics taught by members of the U.S. Olympic team. |
