Mr. Christiansen was granted a $7 million bond authorization from the Council in 1979 in order to help finance his ; projecth Park Avenue. City Attorney Mike McCoy said the Council would not be liable in the event there is a default on ".the SSlA million bonds. subdivision plans presented Van Martin, chief architect for J.J. Johnson Associates, presented plans of McLeod Creek to the Council. Mo decision was taken on the project proposed off of U-224 in Park Meadows. The large development received plat approval from i he Planning Commission earlier this month; and Mr. Martin said developer Bob Harrington plans to have single family lots with open space, condominiums and townhouses. The architect added the developer is working with the State's Division of Wildlife Services in an effort to improve the existing stream in the area. Councilman Helan Alvarez told Martin she thought he was using an "odd" definition of open space considering it will be restricted to property owners. According to the Master Plan, Mrs. Alvarez said, open space for a PUD (Planned Unit Development) is intended for all the public's use. status of sprinkler ordinance City Councilman Tom Shellenberger said last week he thinks the City should adopt not just a sprinkler ordinance but a fire protection ordinance. The City is presently studying ordinances in other cities to aid in the formulation of a local policy. The possibility of installing fire alarms or smoke detectors in all new construction over two stories high was discussed. "I think we need to study this more," said Mr. Shellenberger. "It could have far-reaching affects." Mr. Shellenberger will head up an ad-hoc committee to explore further the formation of a fire protection ordinance in Park City. city defends bus system Responding to a critical letter about Park City's bus system, Mayor lac! Green said last week during the Council meeting, " Wc realize it's not the best transportation system in the world. . It's a difficult thing to provide." The lengthy letter written by Bohbye Hammond said the system needs more runs and loops t: to adequately service the entire community. " The mechanical problems have been reduced to almost ;,' nothing." said Councilman Bob Wells. "It's a problem of ' volume and money. It takes time and money to resolve.
