Show ;7""ViTAV;FIfl gresses. Lakes adjacent to Highway 150, commonly . called 'the Mirror Lake Highway, are accessible and are planted with catchable rainbow and albino trout. Most people over the past ' weekend were catching fish on worms and salmon eggs. Trails in. the Uinta's are still wet and the major passes are closed at present. Backpackers should keep in mind that temperatures at night , are rather chilly. Be prepared for , sudden rain storms. Uinta storms are famous for ruining a trip for the unprepared camper. Horsebackers should take grain or feed with them. Most of the meadow - areas are very wet and Horsefeed is not abundant as yet. Two more weeks of summer should dry things out and produce grass and forage for pack animals. Be aware of the fragile landscape of the Uinta range and the laws made for protecting the primitive area. All people visiting the back country should take out all the garbage they take in. : y Don't stake out your horses in meadow areas that are extremely wet or let them tromple an area to the extent where it may kill vegetation. Always leave a dead camp-fire camp-fire and remember that the limit of fish is eight in possession. Enjoy the Uinta HIGH!!, it's an experience you'll never forget. Until a couple of weeks ago, the High Uinta Mountains were blanketed with several feet of snow, but summer has melted the majority of snow v and returned the excellent . fishing the Uinta's are famous for. . All lakes in the Uinta range are clear of ice. After ice-off, most fishable lakes provide excellent fishing for the first couple of weeks. Fish are hungry and respond well to most baits.
