The Fantasticks is a romantic play that hasj become a classic in its own j time. It's a symbolic yet realistic look at life and youth and love. The music, too, has lasted and remained popular through the years. Who doesn't love "Try to Remember" Remem-ber" or "They Were You." Robert Peterson plays the Narrator (or Ell Gallo) in the PMT production. The basic romance is supplied by Zelie Daniels as the Girl and Charles LaFon as the Boy. Guest Artist Max Robinson (he appeared at PMT in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the horum ; "Romeo and Juliet" and most recently in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying") is the Girl's Father, and Walt Boyden (last in "Robert and Elizabeth" Eliza-beth" at PMT) is the Boy's Father. Salt Lake's favorite Stan Russon is the Old Actor and William Beilke is his side-kick Mortimer. The Mutes (Mr. Stone is using two in this production) are Barbara Lee Bragg and Michael Melonas. Ezra Stone, producer, director, critic, judge, teacher, teach-er, farmer, is well-known and respected ir. every area of entertainment. This is his third visit to Utah. Last year and the year before he was a judge for the American Theatre Festival Playwriting Competition. He and his wife, Sara Seegar, divide their time between Hollywood Holly-wood and their Pennsylvania farm, when they are not traveling, judging and teaching. teach-ing. Evelyn Bartholomew is -Musical Director for The Fantasticks. E. Scott Wells has staged the musical numbers. George Maxwell is the Setting and Costume Designer and Tim Hansen is Lighting Designer. The Fantasticks will play November 1 through 17 (except Sundays) at 8:00pm at Pioneer Memorial Theatre. There will be a matinee on Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2:00pm.
