Show MillerV Watercolors: "Enjoyable Abstracts" by Nan Chalat Joe Miller's watercolors will be on display at the Kimball Art Center until November 15. There are some of the most enjoyable abstracts I have ever seen. Lest there are some who are still leary of the term "abstract" and still feel uncomfortable in trying to second guess the intended interpretation... take a walk through the main gallery and set those fears to rest. Miller's watercolors are melodic. The vibrant colors sound full chords, the textures interweave in harmony har-mony and the panels lead into one another like sheet music. Miller refers to his paintings as "visual music". They are textural concerts, inviting you to enjoy, not to analyze. Some of the water-colors water-colors resemble colages, some are patterned in such detail that they- look like batik. Some of the paintings are made up of panels which are meant to be read like pages in a book. . A stroll through the Miller exhibit is like attending a sy mphony of colors. |
