Show Boys Cfted as Chief Offenders In LUonfon SSieep Hillings Last week, Dave Probst, Midway sheepman, went up to inspect his herd grazing on Park Venture land above the old Daly West Mine. He found that 32 lambs had been killed during the night. Since then about 18 more lambs have turned up dead. The culprit appears to be a large pack of dogs (probably (prob-ably Park City dogs) who round the sheep up into a group and kill the younger ones during the night. ; On September 5, Miners reporting for work at the Ontario Shaft encountered a large black dog with his fangs buried deeply into the neck of a young ewe. The hound was driven off by rocks hurled by the miners, leaving a trail of blood and a dead lamb behind. I Mr. Probst turned to the Park City police department fori help in stopping the killings and some type of action is inevitable. If you have a dog you may suspect as taking part in this, it would be sheer insanity to let him or her out at night. Mr. Probst means business. They have already shot one dog and if the killings continue con-tinue more will probably meet the same fate. |
