Show GEESE GOING SOUTH EARLY Iast night at about 10 o'clock a flock of geese circled around the city, and peltltrd down upon some of the ponds along the Ogdcn river. They came Into the valley from an easterly direction and seemed to be making their way toward the southern south-ern country. They passed over the city to the westward, but soon re turned, and, as near as could be determined, de-termined, stopped on Ogden river for the night. It is possible that they may remain lu the valley a number of days. It Is said by those acquainted with the migratory habits of birds that it is exceptionally early for geese to be traveling to the southland, and that their presence here at this time indicates indi-cates an early and hard winter. |
