Hlne of Missoula, who was one of a parly of fifty Ore-fight-,ers working near Avery, Idaho, of whom twenty perished last Sunday, arrived last night and told the Btory oi his perils. The crew wero on a hill four miles from the Crook camp aLd two miles from Avery. On Sunday Sun-day afternoon they were warned to Dee for their lives hy a man who rushed paM them calling that they bad no time to loe. The fifty men started down a mouutainslde three miles long ar.d very steep. Ahead of them tho gale blew furiously, tearing down tree and throwing them ncross the trail. Arriving at the Cook camp the men found it deserted and a warning tacked up. They ran to a point where the fire had burned off the timber. All but twenty-three men then started for the railroad Tlv next morning before daylight three of 'he men who had heen left behind arrived ar-rived at Avery. The fire situation this morning is one of relaxing re-laxing vigilance. In Fouthern Washington the worst fires are now under control, with the exception ex-ception of that at Ktna, Mason Plain, Cowlitz county. At Lucia Spur, north of Vancouver, the family of F. M.
