Show EXCITEMENT IN CANADA Over the Appearance of Belle Elmore Crippen in a Little Town Alix. Alberta, Nov. 12. Great ex cltcment has been caused here by the 1 report that a woman, who arrived In ' town Wednesday, is llclle Elmore I Crippen, for whose supposed death Crippen is under sentence to be hanged hang-ed in London. November 23rd. Alter the woman alighted from the I train Wednesday she went direct to a livery barn and ordered a team of horses hitched to a wagon, She left a deposit with the liveryman for the return of the team, saying she would send them back next day by a friend. The horses were- returned by a farmer far-mer While the Woman wus waiting at tho bam, the Crippen case was being discussed by a group of men standing stand-ing near her and one of them remarked remark-ed "I guess th-y will make old Doc Crippen squawk over In London." I On hearing the statement, the woman wom-an fainted, but soon recovered. While In a store, tho woman was cascrly scanning a number of newspapers and again fainted on rejoin; something! ' concerning the Crippen sentence.
