Show l!i II Willi ROUTE SCENICBEAUTY Great Construction on New Bingham & Garfield West of Here. Without nolne or exploitation, one of the mot interesting linen in the wet l.s being constructed along the eat slope ot the Oqulrrh range of mountains. moun-tains. This work Is being performed by the Utah Couctructlon company for the Bingham & Garrield, tho new railroad rail-road planned by the officials of the Utah Copper company to handle the Iinmen.se ore tonnage between Bingham Bing-ham and Garfield. The order in the first place was to secure a low-grade line, and with this In view and the idea that the first construction would be of the very best, the engineers l:avc mapped out a route which combines com-bines many noteworthy features. The Utah Construction company has the contract, but it was sublet to many ethers, the Wasatch Construction company having quite a heavy piece of work on the upper end, which Is r.early completed. The line calls for many tunnels and there are being bored by various station men, while Myers Bros, and Gibbons Bros, each have a contract for one of the longer ones. The continued fine weather has been a great boon to the contractors contract-ors and the absence of tho usual autumn au-tumn storms has enabled them to report re-port progress far more extensive than tl.cy anticipated. So apparent is this fact that the contract can bo cosily completed In schedule tinio. Almost the entire lino Is a mountain moun-tain railroad, and from Garfield to Bingham the road Is somewhat similar to tho Cripple Creek road, which made Colorado Springs famous. This has caused the management to already think seriously of making It a pass-onger pass-onger tourist line, with a one-day trip to the mines and smelters that cannot be equaled In any other city. It will make the "Oqulrrh Route" famuos tho world over. The road will be in operation next summer, and it Is the Intention of equipping It with cars that aro the equal of nny on tho, New York Central Cen-tral or the Pennsylvania. |
