Show SAMUEL FORTIER ARRIVES IK OGDEN Samuel Fortier, chief engineer of Irrigation Investigations United States department of Acriculture, arrived in Ogden last evening to confer with City Engineer William Bostahp rel atlve to the contemplated improvements improve-ments lu tbe Weber and Davis counties coun-ties Canal company's water system In Weber canyon and vicinity. Mr. Fortier has been consulting engineer en-gineer for tho company mentioned for 12 years and in company with Engineer Engi-neer Bostaph made the first Investigations Investi-gations in connection with tho big llO-f-jot dam in Weber canyon. Mr. Fortier has been much interested inter-ested in Ogden for more than 20 years and has given particular attention to the Weber canyon proposition. Twelve years ago the stock of the company was worth si 2 50 a share and tbe capitalization was $50,000. In twelve years' time the stock has risen to SIS" a share and the proposition la today to-day valned at one million dollars. Probably no project of this kind In the United States has advanced lu value so rapidly and to such an extent ex-tent as has this Davis and Wobcr counties company. Mr Fortler's visit at this time is to loe.k over tbe plans prepared by Mr. Bostaph for tho contemplated Improvements Im-provements which will Involve an expenditure ex-penditure of three-qn.iilers of a mil-liem mil-liem dollars.
