The committee representing the citizens of Hooper, after a stubborn resistance to the light between Har-bertson Har-bertson and Williams, -o have taken place on August 15. are again able to breathe more freely. Eery effort was made to stop the tight, as the morals of the community were in danger. While it is true that a ltoxing match was held in Hooper 0.1 July 24th. the event proved to us, the committee., and the citizenship that we had been deceived as to what was really a boxing box-ing match prior to that time. Had we born unable to prevent the mill otherwise, the governor of the state would have heon- called upon to stop the same. Yours reepectfullv, (Signed) J. D. HOOPER, Chairman Committee. |
